Autumn Term
In our first term in Year 1 we will be continuing to develop our phonics knowledge during our phonics lessons. We will make a flying start in our Maths lessons learning about place value to ten, addition and subtraction within ten and beginning to develop our knowledge of 3D shapes.
It will be our first time being formally introduced to foundation subjects. In our History lessons we will be learning about The Gunpowder Plot and King James I, it will be a blast!
In Geography we will look at weather and seasons and the ways in which the weather effects the clothes we wear, the activities we take part in and the jobs that we do.
We will be learning about everyday materials in Science and moving on to learn about our senses, we will revisit some topics throughout the year to reinforce our learning.
