13/09/24 Roald Dahl Day

Children had lots of fun celebrating Roald Dahl day.  We listened to extracts from ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and listened to the story, ‘The Enormous Crocodile.’ We enjoyed making a crocodile collage picture. We also had lots of fun talking about our favourite chocolate and even got to make some of our own! What a wonderful day full of discussion and creativity! 🍫

Autumn

Children have enjoyed exploring autumnal finds from our outdoor area. They made leaf rubbings and created patterns using conkers, twigs, leaves and pine cones!

Humpty Dumpty

Children enjoyed using props to learn the rhyme ‘Humpty Dumpty’. They built lots of walls and helped to put Humpty Dumpty back together using plasters!

Fruit and Vegetable Faces

Nursery and Reception have been creating fruit and vegetable faces in the style of the artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo.

22/10/24 Pumpkin Patch Visit
We had a lovely morning at the Pumpkin Patch! It was a beautiful sunny morning, perfect for picking pumpkins for our community autumn walk! 🎃

Pumpkin Art

Children enjoyed drawing pumpkins of different shapes and sizes.  We looked at the artist Yayoi Kushama and her Pumpkin paintings and sculptures. Children enjoyed creating their own polka dot inspired paintings and clay models in the style of Yayoi.

25/10/24 Church Visit

We have been learning about Baptism. Children had a wonderful visit to Our Lady Queen of Peace Syro-Malabar Catholic Church. We talked about the different parts of the church and all the artefacts that are part of each mass and celebration.

25/10/24 Autumnal Walk

Today we enjoyed an Autumn walk and left our own decorated pumpkin for others to enjoy! 🎃

Starry Night

Children enjoyed exploring the art work ‘Starry Night’ by Van Gogh through transient art. Children also explored making twirly, swirly shapes and firework patterns in glitter and shaving foam mixed with paint!
