Remote Learning

All of us here at Our Lady Queen of Peace hope that you are able to keep well and safe over the coming weeks.  During this unprecedented time we would like to keep you informed about resources, remote learning opportunities and updates.  We will be using various platforms to do this:

1) Emails

2) Remote Learning Platforms- Tapestry

3) The school Website

As new resources become available, we will upload them onto the website or our Remote Learning platforms. We need to support each other to ensure children continue to grow academically whilst supporting their wellbeing. To do this we ask all parents and carers to upload evidence of home tasks so we can give feedback and create meaningful next steps. We would also love to see examples of children’s own learning developed through their own interests. We will then help you to plan next steps to move their learning forward. Please remember that if you need to support the school, please email

cdavies@ourladyqueenofpeaceprimary.co.uk

We will also send paper packs to complement online learning which can be used alongside daily tasks or as an extension activity. Keep in touch.

Next Steps- Child Initiated
A super star from Nursery has been exploring ‘shadows’ using his dinosaur toys. He noticed that when he moved his dinosaurs closer to the light source, the shadows got bigger! What fantastic learning based on his own interests. Mum and I worked together to think of a next step which was to create a shadow ‘Puppet Theatre’. He followed instructions from a CBeebies clip and made an absolutely AMAZING shadow puppet theatre! He used his Batman figures to tell stories to his family. He then placed a figure in front of the box and said to his character, “Have you come to the cinema?!” What wonderful learning all from following his interests. This highlights a great example of families and school working together to take learning forward and sharing achievements. What a super star! 🌟
