Year 1/2
Welcome to Year 1/2!
Class teacher- Mrs Watson
Autumn 1
This half term we have lots of exciting learning ahead!
In maths we will be learning about place value, recalling our number bonds to 10 and 20, plus reading and writing numbers to 100.
During our literacy lessons we will be focusing upon the quality text- The Way Home for Wolf and learning how to write Lost posters and diary entries.
In phonics we will continue to rapidly recall our Set 1 and 2 sounds and learn all our Set 3 ones.
Our Science topic is based upon Animals including humans, we will explore mammals, birds, fish, reptiles and amphibians.
In History we will be creating timelines of our lives so far and gaining an understanding of the past and present.
During music sessions we will explore tempo and pulse.
In Art we will be experimenting with tone and shading using a range of creative tools.
P,E. focuses upon the fundamental skills, beginning with running.
In R.E. we will be studying the Bible story of Noah’s Ark.

Today Ben from Active Sefton visited us to teach us about our teeth and how to look after them. We were lucky to receive our own toothpaste and brush to take home.
