We have a busy and exciting Autumn Term ahead!
Maths ➕
We will begin the year by developing our understanding of place value, working with numbers up to 1,000,000. We will then move on to addition and subtraction, developing efficient written and mental methods, before exploring multiplication, division and fractions later in the term.
Literacy 📖
We will begin our Literacy learning with The Man Who Walked Between the Towers. Through this text, the children will explore a range of reading and writing opportunities while developing their vocabulary, grammar and composition skills.
History ⚔️
Our History enquiry is ‘Were the Vikings raiders, traders or invaders?’ We will investigate who the Vikings were, why they came to Britain and the impact they had, using a range of historical evidence to help us reach our own conclusions.
Science 🔬
We will begin our Science learning with Forces. Children will explore gravity, friction, air resistance and water resistance through practical investigations and scientific enquiry.
Religious Education ✝️
In RE, our first topic is Creation and Covenant. We will explore scripture and learn about important covenants in the Bible, considering their significance for Christians.
Art 🎨
Our Art topic is Installation Art. Children will explore how artists transform spaces and use a variety of materials and techniques before developing their own creative ideas.
Music 🎵
In Music, our topic is Music in Nature. We will explore how the natural world can inspire music and develop our skills in listening, performing and composing.
PE 💃
In PE, we will be developing our skills through Dance, learning to create, perform and evaluate sequences of movement.
Spanish 🇪🇸
Children will continue to have their Spanish lesson every Tuesday with Mrs Wilson, developing their confidence in speaking, listening, reading and writing in Spanish.
