OLQP Primary School – Coronavirus Update – School Closure and Key Workers 19/03/20

Dear Parent / Carer

The normal running of our school will end this Friday, 20th March.

We will re-open on Monday, 23rd at the normal times but only for children who we need to ascertain are in the Key Worker Group. This was due to be identified to us by the Cabinet Office today but it has not come to us in time for home-time.

We need this number to be as low as possible in order to keep staffing levels as high as we can for as long as possible. If you are not on the following list – school is highly likely to be closed. WE CAN ONLY CONFIRM PLACES TOMORROW WHEN THE DIFINITIVE LIST COMES IN FROM GOVERNMENT – THIS IS JUST TO INDICATE TO US POTENTIAL NUMBERS. If you are on the list but can manage the situation without effecting vulnerable groups (e.g., it is recommended that children should not be looked after by grandparents) then you are welcome to keep the children at home.

PLEASE RETURN THIS LETTER TO SCHOOL TOMORROW, FRIDAY, 20TH MARCH ONLY IF YOU TICK YES IN ANY OF THE BOXES AND REQUIRE A SCHOOL PLACE

We have identified the children in school who would qualify for FREE SCHOOL MEALS – this is likely not to everyone who has a Free School Meal – we are hoping to have more information regarding potential vouchers TOMORROW.

ALL children should NOT attend at all if they or any of your family exhibits any symptoms as previously noted in detail. Self-Isolation applies here.

                                                                           Continued over the page

There will be no doubt more information and other issues which will need addressing but for now, this information is vital for us to be able to gauge our school situation.

Thank you for your continued support and co-operation. I am trusting that all information provided to us is a truthful representation of your current circumstances. The situation over the Easter period will be addressed as soon as we have more information. We may at some point require evidence of your employment. It is also uncertain as to whether the Key Worker role must apply to BOTH parents – hence the extra box in order to inform us better. As I write this, there also is a big question mark over school staff.
