Keep up to date with all the latest news and events happening in school.
Dear parents and carers,
We have reached the end of the first week of being open to Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 pupils, alongside the children of key worker parents and other families who need us.
We can honestly say that, despite the need for caution and venturing into something new and strange to us all, it has gone smoothly. The children, particularly the younger ones, have been absolute stars with the extra hand-washing and social distancing, and we are so proud of them all. They are a credit to you.
If your child is in one of the eligible groups with spaces left, and you are thinking of requesting one of the available places, please contact the school to discuss this before sending your child in as there is a process to follow. Many thanks.
We currently have 49 pupils on our list in total, spread out across our "bubbles" as follows:
BUBBLE GROUP | NUMBER |
FULL ACCORDING TO SPACE AVAILABLE |
---|---|---|
Reception (plus Key Worker Nursery) | 15 | FULL |
Year 1 | 13 | SPACES |
Year 6 (plus Key Worker Y5) | 11 | SPACES |
Key Worker Bubble |
10 | FULL |

Dear parents / carers,
Sefton have written to schools informing them that they should re-open next week as planned to Reception, Year 1 and Year 6, alongside the provision already in place for children of key worker parents.. See the full letter HERE.
We have written/sent emails to those parents who expressed a wish for their child(ren) to return to school next week, starting Tuesday 23rd June (Monday will be staff training), to provide the reopening plan and a Home-School Agreement for parents and children to read, sign and return to school.
We will be adhering to social distancing measures throughout our school building and grounds. We have asked that only one parent/family member do the school run, and that allocated drop-off and collection times are punctual. We will expect parents / carers to use the 2 meters apart rule while on the school grounds. This is to ensure the safety of all children, staff and parents. We thank you for your cooperation with this important matter.
We look forward to welcoming those children back next week - we really have missed them all!
Stay safe.
The latest guidance from the Department for Education includes an update on using face coverings on buses. See below:
Safer travel guidance for passengers -
From today it is the law that you must wear a face covering when travelling in England on public transport including a bus, coach, tram or train. Where travel with children is necessary, such as to an education setting, consider whether children could walk or cycle, accompanied by a responsible adult or carer, where appropriate. The law requiring passengers to wear face coverings does not apply to children under the age of 11. Face coverings should not be used by children under the age of 3, for safety.
Dear Parents / Carers,
Sefton Council have today made the decision that schools should not re-open to pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 until 22nd June at the earliest. This is because the "R" (Reproduction number - average number of infections produced by 1 infected person) is above 1 in the North West.

Dear Parents / Carers,
Before we can complete and share the full plans with you for the possible wider opening of school to certain year groups from 15th June, we need your help.
Places will be prioritised for children of Key Worker parents and our vulnerable families. They have today received text messages, explaining that they have been identified as a priority group and they should contact school as soon as possible to confirm either way if they will be accepting the offer of a place when school reopens.
Text messages have also been sent out to all parents of children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 6. If your child is in one of these year groups we are asking that you please ring school on 0151 928 3676 or send an email to let us know if your child will be attending. As places are very limited, we would be grateful if you could confirm with a YES or NO by 5 pm tomorrow.
We would also like to confirm that any children attending from 15th June will not be taking part in any statutory end of year testing, as these have all been officially cancelled.
As soon as we have confirmed numbers of children that will be attending, we will then be able to inform you of our plans going forward. We thank you for your patience and understanding during these difficult times.
Stay safe.
Dear Parents / carers,
With the wider opening of school still some time off, we would like to introduce you to some new home learning activities from TTS. These lesson packs can be viewed and downloaded from the following highlighted links:
Nursery / Reception - Early Years Activity Collection
Year 1 / Year 2 - Key Stage 1 Activity Collection
Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 - Key Stage 2 Activity Collection
The collections can be downloaded for printing at home, and are mobile friendly. We are really impressed with them and think they will keep our children busy for some time. If you are unable to access the packs online, please contact school via email to request a paper copy and we can arrange to have them ready for collection at an agreed time.
These new resources are in addition to the fantastic daily lessons at BBC BITESIZE and our preferred Maths learning at White Rose Maths which both cover all age groups.
Happy learning!
